    May Commencement is the Largest Graduating Class in LSUA History

    “Jay Dardenne has been an excellent ambassador for the state of Louisiana for many years and we are pleased that he addressed our May graduates,” said LSUA Chancellor Guiyou Huang.

    LSUA’s spring graduation ceremony took place in the Alexandria Riverfront Center on Thursday, May 11.

    A total of 243 degrees and certificates were awarded making it LSUA’s largest ever commencement ceremony. In all, 143 baccalaureate degrees, 70 associate degrees, 10 certificates and 20 post-baccalaureate certificates were awarded.

    Dardenne was elected twice as Louisiana’s lieutenant governor after previously serving four years as secretary of state, 15 years as a state senator and three years as a Baton Rouge Metro Councilman. In his current role, Dardenne serves as the state’s chief administrative officer.

    Dardenne is married to the former Cathy McDonald, and they have two grown sons, John and Matthew.
