“I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Moore to LSUA. Student engagement and retention are two of the primary goals of the university and he brings extensive experience in not only these areas, but in all areas of campus life,” said LSUA Chancellor Guiyou Huang. “I look forward to working with him to continue meeting the needs of our students.”
The university conducted a nationwide search for the vice chancellor position led by a search committee made up of LSUA faculty, staff, and students.
"Stephan Moore brings radiant energy to LSUA and will build on our current momentum. It is clear he values students as the focus of his profession,” said LSUA Student Government President Anthony Felps.
“LSUA is committed to student and community growth, two areas in which Mr. Moore has demonstrated success at other universities. We are eager to see how his ideas will impact our student retention and enhance student activities on our campus,” said Dr. Cynthia Thomas, search committee chair.
The vice chancellor for student engagement will be responsible for all areas of student support including housing, student organizations, advising, campus activities, testing, disability services, and counseling. The position will also focus on student engagement and retention.
Moore holds a Master of Arts in Education and Educational Leadership from Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona and a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from Campbell University located in Buies Creek, North Carolina. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education with an emphasis on Educational Leadership in Higher Education from Georgia Southern University.
