    Ben Jammin' Scholarship Donation

On Saturday, September 14, a giant check was presented to LSUA, two weeks after Central Louisianians partied for a good cause at the second annual Ben Jammin' Fest.

Huckleberry Brewing Company staff handed over $8,000 in honor of their dear friend Benjamin Rougeou.

Rougeou was a bass player who was known for spreading the New Orleans culture.

He passed away from cancer two years ago, so his longtime friend and owner of Huckleberry, Jacob Willson, started Ben Jammin' Fest and even named a delicious ale after him.

Willson said they far surpassed last years check amount thanks to the community's help.

"There is more awareness of it and people have been coming together for it," Willson said.  "We all have a common goal to expand and make it bigger, and make it something that is a staple for sure."

The check will be added to a scholarship at LSUA and will be awarded in the near future.
