LSUA Remembers Former Foundation Board Member at Passing
Louisiana State University of Alexandria and the LSUA Foundation extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and loved ones of former LSUA Foundation board member, and CLECO executive, Mike Madison. Madison passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2022.
LSUA Chemistry Students Secure Prestigious Research Opportunities
Two junior chemistry students at LSUA have each been offered summer research positions at top universities! Destiny Harrison and Kendall Powell have both been accepted to the national Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.

On March 8, 2020, the LSU Board of Supervisors approved a resolution to promote LSUA’s Department of Business

Heart of a Lion Scholarship raises money for fall SPD officers

LSUA and Bossier Parish Community College Sign Nursing Agreement
There is now a new way for BPCC nursing students to continue their education.
LSU of Alexandria and Bossier Parish Community College are excited to announce a new nursing partnership between the two institutions.
The 2+2 agreement establishes a pathway for students to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing at BPCC before transferring to LSUA to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN).
Tuition at LSUA Will Not Increase for 2017-2018 Academic Year
For the first time in over 10 years, LSUA’s tuition will not increase for the upcoming academic year (2017-2018).
Tuition will remain at the same level as Fall 2016, which stands at $2,447 for a full-time student. There will be a $24 increase in fees (0.7%) bringing the total cost (tuition/fees) for a student enrolled in 12 hours to $3,357.75 per semester – The lowest tuition/fees of all four-year universities within the state.
Moore Named Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement
LSUA is pleased to welcome Mr. Stephan Moore to campus as vice chancellor for student engagement.
LSU of Alexandria is proud to announce the hiring of Stephan Moore as the new vice chancellor for student engagement. Moore is currently the dean of student affairs at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Croix.
May Commencement is the Largest Graduating Class in LSUA History
Congratulations of the Class of 2017.
Former Louisiana lieutenant governor and current Commissioner of the Division of Administration Jay Dardenne delivered the keynote address at LSUA’s May commencement ceremony.
History majors at LSUA will be able to apply for a new scholarship beginning in Fall 2017.
A LSUA History major will be the beneficiary of a new endowed scholarship created from the estate of Richard A. McInnis.
McInnis lived in Boyce and passed away in January 2015 at the age of 93.
