LSUA Celebrates Five Kinesiology Graduates Pursuing Advanced Degrees in Occupational and Physical Therapy
The LSUA School of Education’s Kinesiology faculty would like to recognize three recent graduates who will be attending Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy school this fall and two alumnae currently pursuing graduate degrees.
LSUA English Faculty Publishes Edited Collection of Essays on Distance Learning
LSU of Alexandria liberal arts faculty member Dr. Ginger Jones has published an edited collection on current best practices in distance learning. The collection includes essays about online learning and teaching by sixteen international scholars and professors.
SPERO-LSUA is excited to welcome the inaugural SPERO Freshman class of 2022!
This program aims to bring hope to the lives of these students by providing them with resources and opportunities to lead more independent lives and take up meaningful and rewarding employment in our community. The SPERO program is largely funded through grants and donations.
LSUA will host its annual Juneteenth celebration on-campus this Thursday, 16 June, from 11 am to noon in the Brumfield-Caffey Annex. The central Louisiana community is invited to join us in this special commemoration of our nation's past and celebration of our future.

LSUA Foundation Hosts Belated Black History Luncheon and Ebony Scholarship Benefit
The LSUA Foundation hosted its annual Black History Luncheon, previously scheduled for February, on Wednesday, May 25. The event featured the inspirational words of the Honorable David Michael Williams, 9th Judicial District Court Judge. The event also honored Anais Callegari, recipient of this year’s Ebony Scholarship Award.
LSUA Women’s Tennis Advances to NAIA National Semifinals
For the first time in its history, the LSUA women’s tennis team advances to the semifinals of the national tournament. With the victory against SCAD Savannah, LSUA (19-0) matched its most wins for a single season in school history, tying the 19 victories in 2017.
CLECO GIVES $100,000 TO LSUA TO SUPPORT ACCOUNTANTS FOR THE FUTURE
Cleco completed its pledged giving of $100,000 to support LSUA’s Accountants for the Future initiative. LSUA Chancellor Dr. Paul Coreil and Cleco President and CEO Bill Fontenot celebrated with a ceremonial “big” check presentation.
LSUA Recognizes Undergraduate Research at Scholar Day 2022
LSUA held the 4th annual Scholar Day at LSUA this week with 122 students presenting undergraduate research. This multidisciplinary event celebrates the scholarship and creative activity happening in classrooms across LSUA.
LSUA held its annual Ms. LSUA pageant, crowning Sophie Borhi, the first international student to win the honor. Four fabulous contestants were recognized for their contributions to student life at LSUA. The event honors their intelligence, talent, and their special place among the student body.
LSUA Remembers Former Foundation Board Member at Passing

LSUA Chemistry Students Secure Prestigious Research Opportunities
Two junior chemistry students at LSUA have each been offered summer research positions at top universities! Destiny Harrison and Kendall Powell have both been accepted to the national Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.
LSU of Alexandria and Central Louisiana Technical Community College have signed a “2+2 Business Articulation” memorandum of understanding (MOU) that creates a clear and guaranteed transfer pathway from CLTCC’s Associate of Science in Business Administration to LSUA’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

LSUA and Bossier Parish Community College Sign Nursing Agreement
There is now a new way for BPCC nursing students to continue their education.
LSU of Alexandria and Bossier Parish Community College are excited to announce a new nursing partnership between the two institutions.
The 2+2 agreement establishes a pathway for students to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing at BPCC before transferring to LSUA to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN).
Tuition at LSUA Will Not Increase for 2017-2018 Academic Year
For the first time in over 10 years, LSUA’s tuition will not increase for the upcoming academic year (2017-2018).
Tuition will remain at the same level as Fall 2016, which stands at $2,447 for a full-time student. There will be a $24 increase in fees (0.7%) bringing the total cost (tuition/fees) for a student enrolled in 12 hours to $3,357.75 per semester – The lowest tuition/fees of all four-year universities within the state.
